MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) – Police in Maple Heights are investigating the shooting death of a 73-year-old man who was killed at a laundromat.

Police responded to the 16000 block of Broadway Ave. Monday just before 1 a.m. on a shots fired call.

According to a press release, a 73-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

FOX 8’s Adrienne DiPiazza spoke with the victim’s family.

He’s been identified as David Brown.

His family says he and his wife had been married 20 years, and that he was a Vietnam Veteran.

His family tells FOX 8 Brown was retired and worked at the laundromat for something to do.

Police say the shooter ran from the scene.

Officers say they have a person of interest in custody, but no charges have been filed at this time.
