Homeowner shot through window by unknown suspects in Cass County

A 57-year-old man from Edwardsburg was injured after being struck by gunfire through the window of his residence on Starbrick Street, near Tharp Lake Road in Mason Township Saturday.

Cass County sheriff Richard J. Behnke reported that the incident occurred on Saturday, March 23 at approximately 12:19 a.m. The homeowner told police that he was in his house when unknown subjects came to his residence demanding to speak with him. When the homeowner refused to go outside, the subjects started to fire a gun through the window, injuring the Edwardsburg man.

An ambulance transported the homeowner to Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, Indiana. As of 11 a.m. Saturday morning, police say he is in stable condition.

The suspects are unknown while police continues to investigate.
