June Shannon, better known as “Mama June” and the mother of reality TV star Honey Boo Boo, was officially charged with drug possession on Monday, following her arrest last week after an alleged domestic incident with her boyfriend.
Page Six reports that Macon County, Alabama, authorities charged 39-year-old Mama June Shannon with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and felony possession of a controlled substance, that police noted as crack cocaine. The “Mama June: From Not to Hot” star was formally charged following a domestic dispute with boyfriend, Geno Doak, 43.
Doak apparently already had a criminal record, with charges that include criminal damage to property, burglary, and theft. He now faces charges of domestic violence, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
As previously reported, authorities were called to a gas station last week involving an alleged issue between Shannon and Doak. When police arrived, they found Shannon in possession of a pipe, needle, and white powder. Shannon reportedly told police the powder was crack cocaine.
Doak told the officers that patted him down that he had a needle in his pocket and he didn’t want them “to get sticked or nothing.” Both Shannon and Doak were arrested.
After her release from jail, Shannon spoke a tow truck driver while trying to get her car out of impound, and adamantly denied being in a domestic dispute with Doak the day cops arrested them. In recorded audio obtained by TMZ , Shannon is heard hurling profanities while claiming the police searched her car and tore it up “to he** and back.”
